ATTENTION:  AOL Users

 

To properly view the posters, AOL requires a different set-up than other internet service providers.  Please follow these instructions for properly setting up the email settings.

 

Missing Child Poster

 

Setting Your Email Setup Properties if You are Using AOL as Your Default Email Program:

1. For the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) enter: smtp.aol.com

2.  Enter in the Port box the value:  587.

3. For Type select:  Simple Login

4. Enter your Login name or Member name in the Account box.

5. Enter your password in the Password box.

6. Enter your AOL email address in Your Email Address box.

7. Press Save Settings button.

 

Additional AOL Troubleshooting Section:

Socket Error # 10054 - Connect reset by peer.  If received by an AOL user, verify the settings are correct as given in the instructions for Setting your email setup properties if you are using AOL as your default email program above.

 

Instructions for AOL users:  Viewing the Missing Child Poster When It Does Not Display Correctly:  AOL users must reset the browser to Internet Explorer. 

1. Click on the AOL icon located on the lower right screen next to the computer system clock.

2. Click ‘System Information’ and select Ok.

3. Select ‘Utilities’ tab.

4. Select ‘Open’ next to Internet Options Control Panel.

5. Select ‘Programs’ tab. 

6. Check ‘Reset Web Settings to Internet Explorer as Default’ and press Ok.

7. Check ‘Internet Explorer Should Check’ to see if it is the Default Browser and press ‘OK.’

8. Close and Open Internet Explorer. When prompted to make Internet Explorer you default browser, click ‘Yes’ to re-associate all of your HTML files to Internet Explorer.

9. Once the default browser has been set to Internet Explorer, the Missing Child Poster will display.

 

Instructions for viewing Missing Child Poster directly from Internet Explorer:

1. Start Internet Explorer.  You do not need to be connected to the internet.

2. Select File/Open menu option.

3. Press the ‘Browse’ button.

4. In the Open window, navigate to the following folder  C:\Program Files\Skip_Family\Child's name\.

5. Select the filename: Click on Child'sNameMissingPoster.html.

6. Press ‘OK’ on the Open Window.  This should display the poster and allow printing from the browser.

7. If the photo is not displayed in the poster, first verify that Child'sNamePhoto1.jpg exists in the same directory and then repeat steps 2-6 and select the filename eChild'sNameMissingPoster.html.

 

Lost Pet Poster

7. If the photo is not displayed in the poster, first verify that Pet'sNamePhoto1.jpg exists in the same directory and then repeat steps 2-6 and select the filename ePet'sNameLostPet.html.
